Heritance Taub Family geschiedenis filosofie

The Taub family is a big name in California on the scene of wine and spirits. Their history goes back to the end of the prohibition in the twenties. As one of the first in America, they received the personal permission of President Roosevelt to produce and distribute alcoholic beverages. Meanwhile, we are 3 generations further but still the Taubs are one of the references in California, even for the entire US. Heritance is the most important family vineyard and one of the benchmark wineries of Napa Valley, America's most renowned wine region. Their impressive counter to the absolute top of our European quality wines. Heritance is actually a combination of "Heritage" and "Inheritance", pointing to the start of a new tradition and its sustainable continuation. The wines are made after the example of the greatest Bordeaux and leave the true wine lover with absolute silence!

Heritance terroir

Napa has a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and relatively mild winters with regular rainfall. In Rutherford the vineyards are cooled by a regular sea breeze, which means that the growth and flowering take longer and the quality here is usually higher. St-Helena has clay with here and there volcanic sediments and Oakville owns sand and loam soil with a slightly cooler microclimate.

Heritance Taub Family Wines

Under the experienced eye of 'Chief' winemaker Tom Hinde, the Heritance wines follow tradition and elegance. Explore these two great wines:

- Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon: 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot. Manual harvest. Strict selection. Cautious pressing and fermentation on selected Bordeaux yeasts in stainless steel. Malolactic fermentation on wooden casks, followed by maturation of 19 months on barrique with pumping every 4 months. The color is deep, ruby red and beautifully shiny. Nose that is full of red and black fruit with delightful notions of lightly toasted wood, vanilla, cocoa, leather and a deliciously fine pepper. In the mouth, this beautiful pallet only opens more and is guided by an impressive fine and balanced structure. The long finale is an exciting journey of discovery of new impulses and impressions and guarantees many years of aging potential! Wine of another dimension!

- Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Hand picked and bunch selected for each bunch. Fermentation in large wooden casks on original Bordeaux yeasts. After malolactic fermentation, the wine continues to rest on its Lies for 18 months in small French oak barriques. (100% of which 75% new). The result is a deep, ruby red color and a noble nose with intense aromas of black currants, plums, cedar, roasted coffee and the typical 'Dusty' character specific to Rutherford. Exceptionally velvety tannins and a perfectly balanced structure reveal themselves in the mouth, where impressions of vanilla and fine herbs unfold. The final seems to continue to infinitely long and refined finish. Cabernet at an unprecedented level!
